Tea of Hope
Tea of Hope, a nonprofit organization, was started in 2006 when my daughter, Jana, and one of her friends, Emily, decided to raise money and walk in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer which was held October 2006 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
My mother, Jerry McMillan (Mamo to all of her grandchildren), was diagnoied with Stage 3 ovarian cancer in late October 2000. During this time period, the cancer spread to her breasts and finally to her liver. She bravely battled this disease until June 26, 2001. She was the center of our family and a friend to everyone she met. The memories we have of her are priceless.
We want to help find a cure for these diseases so that future generations will not have to face the heartache of losing someone you love to cancer.
We currently have raised $8,025.00 and have donated 100% of these proceeds to our cause.
We have publised a cookbook "Cooking for a Cure". The recipes are a collections from survivors and members of families that these disesases have touched.
A sampling of our favorite recipes are on the following pages.
You can make a tax deductible donation or purchase a cookbook by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 704-938-7817.
